Day of "fun" at the Crandalls...

Today, June 8, 2008, was pretty much pure insanity around here... To start off with, Emma' friend, Heidi Turley, came over and between the three girls (Emma, Anna, and Heidi), a decision could NEVER be made. Each one wanted a different movie at the same time, in the same place, with different snacks (popcorn, pop-sicle, etc.). We ended up watching about 1.4 minutes of each movie, then switching to a new one... Oh well, it was fun though!!
After Heidi left, Emma and Mandy were scheduled to go to the dentist's office to have cavities filled (Emma--2; Mandy--1). Mandy did NOT want to go, she fought, yelled, threw things, kicked, talked back, hit, etc. (she basically turned into a female Hulk) and would NOT calm down for the life of her... Finally, after talking to Dad (Eric) and realizing little worms would crawl through her teeth and she's end up looking like the old hag on Enchanted if she didn't go, she calmed down a bit and went (but not happily).
Meanwhile... at home...
I (Erika) was home babysitting sleeping Jacoby brother and Anna Banana. Anna found a movie she wanted to watch, so I turned it on for her and went to my room to work on my summer project for English. Every few minutes I'd check on her, just to find she was watching her movie and perfectly content on it. My mistake: I had forgotten the movie was only about 1/2 hour long... and I had to watch them for about 2 1/2 hours... She finished her movie and went to her room; I knew she had done this, so I didn't worry too much about it. The last 20 minutes we had before Mom and the girls got home, she spent in my room talking to me and showing me her doggies. Mom came home and said "Oh my gosh!! Where is Anna's hair?!?!?" Then I realized what she had done during the time she was in her room... cutting her hair... o man, I did NOT notice that... grr to her...
Later on...
Several hours have passed and the time was now about 10:00 PM, Mom just came home from work, I was cleaning out the pantry, Jacoby was asleep in his bed, Mandy and Emma were watching Mary Poppins on the couch, Dad was drawing on his clip-board, and Anna was in her room... Mom comes in, says "Hi!" to everyone, asks where Anna is, we tell her "her room," she goes down there, comes out pushing Anna in front of her and says "WHO was watching her?!?" Uh-oh, bad sign... She then says "Anna, look at Daddy...Anna look at Erika...Anna look at Mandy and Emma..." To our surprise, Anna had found a purple permanent marker and had colored almost her entire face and half of one of her bedroom walls with it... oops... She now has about 5 bald spots, unevenly cut hair, purple marker all over her face, bloody scratch marks all over her body from her exima, and marker covered hands... dang. The child is truly amazing, she did all of this in ONE, count it, ONE day! Our question: WHY?!? Who knows...
